Chapter 6 Introduction
IntroductionThis chapter will expose you to the correct way of measuring voltage, current, and resistance. Many technicians purchase an expensive meter and never learn how to use it correctly or use it to its full potential; the meter sits unused for the most part in their tool box.
Be sure to pay close attention to the schematic diagrams with the meter and its leads properly positioned to perform the various measurements. Pay close attention to how to measure resistance, it is the most like measurement for you to take incorrectly.
Most of the Fluke 87's features are applicable to use in the automotive industry, however there are features like capacitance measurement and micro-amp measurement that will probably never be used in this environment.
