Bloom's Taxonomy Levels
Each objective indicates learning in one of the three learning domains (cognitive, affective, or psychomotor). Visit the ID series: Learning Domains to learn about these domains. This workshop only discusses assessing learning in the cognitive domain. However, most guidelines are still applicable to designing tests for other domains.
The cognitive domain consists of different levels of cognitive process, namely remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate, and create (Krathwohl, 2002). Each level differs in its complexity. Each level may be assessed by some test formats (e.g., multiple-choice, short essay, etc.).
