Select one of the following question and compose an answer of at least 4 type-written, double-spaced pages:
1) If liberal feminism achieves its goals, is Marxist/socialist feminism still necessary? In answering this question be sure that you set out the goals of liberal feminism and what a society in which these goals had been achieved would look like. Then, make your case for why Marxist/socialist feminism would still be necessary or not.
2) Do you think that the primary cause of women’s oppression, historically, has been due to her legal inequality with men, patriarchy (understood as a male-imposed system of oppression), or her economic dependence upon men? How would a Marxist/socialist feminist dismantle women's oppression?
3) Compose a Radical feminist critique of Marxist/Socialist feminism. Where would radicals agree with the Marxist/socialists, where would they disagree?
In answering one of the above three question be sure you draw on our readings thus far in the semester..
