Select one of the following question and compose an answer of at least 4 type-written, double-spaced pages:
1) Select one of the critiques of Liberal Feminism presented by Tong at the end of chapter one of her book and answer the following question: is this a valid critique of the work of John and/or Harriet? In answering this question you will need to set out the basis of that critique and then make you case for why it is or is not a valid critique of the work of John and/or Harriet.
2) Based on what we have read by John Stuart Mill, is he a feminist? In answering this question, you will (obviously) have to put forth a definition or conception of feminism to which you can compare Mill’s writings.
3) While John and Harriet certainly collaborated on their writings there are definitely some differences between them. Use the writings of Harriet to compose a critique of John’s “feminist theory.” Where would Harriet think John was correct, where incorrect? What would she think of his approach, his focus, etc.? In answering this question you will need to set out Harriet’s position in order to use it to critique John’s.
In answering any of these questions be sure to draw directly on the texts we have read. Direct quotations are necessary to a quality paper.
